Gawyn Mitchell

Gawyn Mitchell was born on January 22, 1949 in Monroe, GA. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1971 with a B.A. in History. He went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi Law School in 1984. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar Association in 1984 and the Georgia Bar Association in 1985.
In 1974, Gawyn was a B52 pilot in Vietnam and worked as an Air Force instructor pilot at Columbus Air Force Base from 1977 to 1981. He served in the Mississippi Air National Guard from 1988 to 2006. He is now retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard.

Jennifer Merchant
Office Manager
Jennifer handles our day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency and time management to ensure the smooth running of our office on a daily basis. Jennifer’s responsibilities include maintaining intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, preparing payroll, staff supervision and task delegation.
Jennifer originally hails from Ripley, Tennessee, where she graduated from Ripley High School. Jennifer and her husband Wayne have a son, Ethan, who is nine-years-old. When she is not in the office, Jennifer spends the majority of her time watching her son play baseball. Jennifer also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and returning to her childhood home in Tennessee.
Suzie Lowery
Legal Assistant
Suzie has been with Mitchell Law for 14 years. Suzie is originally from Bailey, Mississippi and attended West Lauderdale High School. Suzie has been blissfully married to her husband Billy for 15 years. Suzie and her husband have two adorable children; Addison (6) and Eli (4). Suzie is an active member of Fairview Baptist Church where she sings in the choir, teaches a Sunday school class, and serves on the pre-school committee team.
Suzie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and an Associate of Arts in Accounting from East Mississippi Community College.
Brittany Griffin
Legal Assistant
Brittany is originally from Caledonia, Mississippi and graduated from Caledonia High School. Brittany now lives in New Hope with her six-year-old son, Braxton, who is in the first grade at New Hope Elementary.
When Brittany is out of the office you can find her spending time with family and watching her son play soccer and baseball. Brittany enjoys watersports on Smith Lake, mud bogging, and trips to the beach. Brittany started employment at Mitchell Law in February of 2017.
